Bebot Takes a Bath
Posted on June 19, 2013 by Ching under Babies.
We found this carwash kit at Sam’s Club on Sunday and it inspired us to give Bebot a much-needed bath. I think it’s been over a year since his last carwash. LOL.
Brian and I agreed that, though we wanted a West-facing house so that the deck and yard are shady in the afternoon, having an East-facing house is actually convenient for washing the car because our driveway is in the shade every afternoon.

My Mom Cracks Me Up

Mom went to brunch the other day with an XS sticker still on her top. She had no idea it was there. I didn’t notice it until after brunch. LOL.

Father’s Day Brunch at Granite City
Posted on June 18, 2013 by Ching under Family, Food and Drink.
Here are some pictures from our Father’s Day brunch at Granite City.

Bloody Mary and Mimosa
The Dessert Tray
Granite City capitalized on Father’s Day by charging $2 more for their regular Sunday brunch which is usually $16.95 (had no idea it was that much). It would have been cheaper to go to Legends. LOL. Even Hereford House only charged $17.95 for their Sunday brunch on Father’s Day. We’ll know for next time.
Other than the price, the food was pretty good. Granite City offered several options, including salmon (which was good, but not as good as Newport Grill’s salmon). The only thing I missed was rice. I guess I could have gotten rice if I had some of their jambalaya, but mom said it was spicy. I enjoyed what I had though. And we had wonderful company.
The dad’s seemed to like their presents. We got Star Trek: Original Motion Picture Collection (Star Trek I, II, III, IV, V, VI + The Captain’s Summit Bonus Disc) [Blu-ray] for Brian’s dad because he really loves Star Trek. I had gotten it as one of Amazon’s gold box deals and got a heck of a deal on it. I love, love, love Amazon gold box deals! As for my dad, we never know what to get him so we settled on a Visa gift card.
For Brunch next year, Brian and I decided that we can save money by serving brunch at our house instead of going out to eat. We just have to remember not to throw a party the night before so the house isn’t a mess. LOL.

Jenni Gives Good Gift
Posted on June 16, 2013 by Ching under Events, Flickr.
Brian absolutely loved his present from Jenni: a Superman cape. The best part is without even any planning on anyone’s part, he just happened to be wearing his Superman t-shirt yesterday.
Thank you so much to everyone who came to celebrate Brian’s 39th birthday with us. Check out the slide show below for more photos from the event.

Brian’s Birthday at Bradley Fair
Posted on June 14, 2013 by Ching under Events.
Brian and I committed to attending all of the jazz concerts this year at Bradley Fair. We are making up for missing the jazz concerts last year because of my Thursday night Zumba classes, which I’m not teaching this year. Woot!
Brian and I like to come early so we can park our car next to our spot across the lake from stage. We like the other side of the lake because we can spread out, bring our own booze and snacks, and just relax.
Don and Carol Mason, a couple we met at the outdoor concerts a few years ago, joined us last night. We’ve been meeting them at the jazz concerts every year (except for last year when we all sort of blew off the concerts for various reasons) since then.
Jay and Becca joined us also.
It was a beautiful day for an outdoor jazz concert.
We brought birthday cake to share with everyone because it was Brian’s birthday.
This photo gives you a good idea of where our spot is in relation to the stage.
This is Brian taking a picture of himself and Jay.
This is OUR tree.
I love the outdoor jazz concerts. We always have so much fun. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend checking it out at least once this summer. The concerts happen at 7:30 pm every Thursday through the 4th of July. A great fireworks display usually follows the very last concert. That will be true this year as well, specially since the 4th of July falls on a Thursday.
If you are not yet convinced, here are some pictures that we took during the 2010 and 2011 summer concert series at Bradley Fair. No pictures from last year. We’re well on our way to rectifying that this year, though.
Hope to see your smiling faces at Bradley Fair next week!
