We are Officially on WattSaver
Posted on September 27, 2012 by Ching under Things to Do.
It took some convincing, but I did it. I finally convinced Brian to let us get on WattSaver program. He didn’t want to at first, but we agreed that it was the environmentally responsible thing to do. The free programmable thermostat is a nice bonus also.
Brian met the WattSaver installer, who was very knowledgeable and professional, at the house yesterday. Here’s a shot of the two of them talking, courtesy of our video surveillance system.
Speaking of video surveillance, check out what Brian did today when he came home for lunch. He figured that I would get the motion alarm email with the video capture images. Isn’t he the sweetest?
I had the same idea when I got home, even before I saw motion alert email that Brian generated over lunch. I can’t share those images with you guys though. LOL.
BTW, if you don’t get it, this is how a couple of nerdy people romance each other.

Quiet Sunday at Flip and Ching’s
Posted on September 23, 2012 by Ching under Life.
It was a little chilly this morning so we decided to eat breakfast inside instead of eating breakfast out on the deck as we’d been doing the last couple of weekends. The iPad has actually come in quite handy because we can take our TV shows with us wherever we go. LOL.
I made the rice. Brian made sausage and eggs.
We spent the day doing chores and relaxing at home. In fact, I didn’t leave the house at all. Amie decided to take the day off and spend it with her boys so I took the day off as well. I didn’t work out at all today.
Not too much excitement happened, other than the frustration of setting up our wireless video surveillance system. We were super excited to get our FOSCAM working after a couple of hours of tinkering with it (okay so it was more like four hours) that we didn’t even bother to test its wireless capability. When we finally untethered it, we couldn’t get it to work. What good is a surveillance camera when it’s confined to the office because it’s wired? We need it to be wireless so we can put it in the middle of the house. Ugh. Maybe Brian can figure it out while I’m out of town tomorrow.

Party on the Plaza – Oktoberfest 2012
Posted on September 23, 2012 by Ching under Events.
Brian and I had a great time at Party on the Plaza – Oktoberfest 2012 last night. This year was even more fun than last year because we somewhat knew what to expect.
Our group, which consisted of Mel and her husband Toby, Janet and her husband Brian, Janet’s sister Angie and her husband Phil, and Sister Rose Therese, had a great time with the auction paddles – not so much bidding on the lavish live auction items, but taking photos of one another with the paddles. What a creative idea! Kudos to whoever came up with it.
We had a lively, fun group. We even participated in some German drinking songs. And by participate, I don’t mean sing along, because I don’t know any of the words (despite how many times they repeated each song). We just all raised our beer steins and swayed from side to side like a bunch of merry fools. Of course, the beer was abundant and flowed freely. What’s there not to be happy about? LOL.
I hope we get invited to this event again next year. We may even dess up like the Archilbalds did. LOL.

Saturday Morning Cartoons
Posted on September 23, 2012 by Ching under Life.
Brian looks like a kid in our big bed. LOL. You’ll really think of him as a kid after you hear what he was watching. Yep. Saturday morning cartoons.
I was like, “Really?” To which he responds, “What? I like Ben 10. It’s an ALL NEW one!” Yes. Really. That’s what I have to put up with. SMH.
BTW, if you don’t recognize the bedroom furniture, it’s because we upgraded to a king bed when we moved. Unfortunately, I tried to save a little money on the mattress (because bedroom furniture in general is so expensive). It’s a good mattress, but it’s not as good as the organic stuff we had before. Of course, nothing could compare to that mattress. Not even the so-called heavenly beds at Westin.
Brian actually sneaks in naps in the guest room because he misses the old mattress. LOL. Sorry, baby. On the plus side, now that we have a king sized bed, it’s harder for me to push him off in the middle of the night.

The Cheesecake Factory
Posted on September 18, 2012 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Brian was laughing at me last week because I checked in at Cheesesteak Factory on FourSquare instead of checking in at The Cheesecake Factory, which is where I really meant to check in at. LOL.
Darcy had the Moroccan chicken.
I had the bang-bang chicken and shrimp. It was super yummy! I would definitely order it again next time I’m at the restaurant.
Also, I didn’t get to have any cheesecake this time because I was so full from my meal. I’m going to have to save room for dessert next time.
And, how is it that there’s a Cheesecake Factory in Leawood and there’s not one in Wichita? WTH?
