Mother’s Day is Just Around the Corner
Posted on April 24, 2009 by Ching under For Sale.
Remember when I posted ideas about where to shop for Mother’s Day? Allow me to add some more to that. I would like to submit some Etsy jewelry finds for your consideration.
- Mom’s Circle of Love Necklace – Lisa’s Pieces
- Steampunk Charm Bracelet – The Steampunk Trunk
- Mother’s Day Birthstone Necklace – BeadDreamer’s Creations
- Custom Photo Charm Necklace – Mama Beth Bling
- Baby Feet Necklace – Jewelry by Stephanie
That last one is my absolute favorite not just because she is local, but she is super nice also. I’m sure your moms will approve.

Pictures from Jay’s Birthday
Posted on April 21, 2009 by Ching under Flickr.
We celebrated Jay’s 30th birthday at Fox and Hound on Sunday. I was worried that Brian wouldn’t be able to make it because he has been busy with National Sales Meeting this week. Luckily, he managed to find a way to attend. We had a great time.

Ching’s First Flea Market Experience
Posted on April 20, 2009 by Ching under Life, Things to Do.
Jan and I went to the Mid-America Market flea market at the Kansas Coliseum (Pavilion I) yesterday. It was so much fun and way more walking than I expected. There were rows upon rows of vendors as far as the eye could see. It was like going to 100 yard sales all in one place. There were new things, old things, odd things, cool things and just everything. They were selling things I didn’t even know existed. Each vendor had something unique to offer. I was completely astounded. I could have easily spent my entire credit limit. Good thing most of the vendors didn’t take credit cards. Also, Brian made me promise not to buy anything. Except, I did find something I just had to buy. I bought him a little gag gift for his birthday from the flea market.
Here are some of the pictures I took…

I have no idea why Brian hates going to flea markets. I got my first taste and I’m hooked. I can see why people find the neatest treasures at these events. I found one such treasure and to my surprise it wasn’t something, it was someone.
I met Stephanie McAdam, a jewelry designer who specializes in personalized, stamped necklaces. I couldn’t get enough of her stuff so I asked for her business card and immediately looked up her Etsy store upon arriving home. Her necklaces make the perfect gifts. I actually ordered a couple of necklaces for myself. I hope to get them on Friday. I’m so excited! (I technically didn’t buy them at the flea market so I’m still abiding by his rules.)
Stephanie and I have been communicating by email about my order and she has been a wealth of information. I have to say that her pre-sales customer service is A-plus! She has been really helpful and has answered my non-order-related questions also, like my curiosity about selling at the flea market and stuff. I’m actually thinking that maybe Brian and I should sell our wares at the flea market, too. Maybe a year from now, when we have some more inventory. LOL.

I’m mad at Viega for taking my husband away from me this entire weekend. There. Now that I’ve said it, I feel so much better!
