Our Handicapped-Accessible Bathroom
Posted on October 31, 2008 by Ching under Flickr, Travel.
What is it with us and handicapped-accessible rooms? This is the second time this has happened to us. The first time we got a handicapped-accessible room assigned to us was on our Vegas trip earlier this year. They must confuse Brian’s mental retardation for a physical handicap or something. Just kidding, baby!
I have no idea what everyone else’s bathrooms looked like, but ours had a folding bench (which we never used because [a] we didn’t need it and [b] it looked gross; you never know whose bun buns have been on that thing) and bars along all the walls, behind the door, and even above the toilet. I guess this way if you were physically-challenged in some way, you could support yourself. I’m sure Brian had other ideas for the bars but, as for me, I found them particularly handy on those days when the ship rocked a lot.
Anyway, our shower had this string that runs from the top of the shower all the way to the bottom. I wasn’t sure what it was so, one morning, I asked Brian what it was for. Goof ball goes “I don’t know,” as he starts pulling on the string.
Almost immediately our stateroom phone rings. I guess they were checking on us if we needed assistance of the I’ve-fallen-and-I-can’t-get-up nature. Brian replied, “We are okay. Thank you.” Now we know what that string is for. LOL.

Day 4: October 29, Wednesday
Posted on October 30, 2008 by Ching under Flickr, Travel.
This is the day we docked in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We didn’t end up going to Island Village like we planned because it is closer to Ocho Rios, almost two hours away. It would have taken too much time to go there and then come back. Figured it wasn’t worth it.
Since we decided not to go there, we had a whole bunch of time to ourselves. We chose to do the horseback ride and swim excursion. Here are some photos of our adventure…

Click here for more photos from our horseback ride and swim excursion.
Brian liked the land portion of the excursion and hated the water part. He said the horse in front of him (not mine) kept pooping. When it pooped in the water, his horse ran right into it and it got all over him. Or so he thought. I think it just floated by. Anyway, he was totally grossed out and turned off by the experience. Besides Brian getting pooped on, the excursion itself was actually pretty fun.
The funny thing is that Brian had set $150 of our $300 cash aside. We had planned to put all of our expenses besides tips for bus drivers and tour guides on our credit card that we used for our sail and sign account so we only took $300 in cash on the trip. Anyway, he hid $150 in his murse (which we left in our stateroom) right before we disembarked in Montego Bay. We forgot all about it and didn’t find the money until we were packing to leave. =P

No Longer a Virgin
Posted on October 29, 2008 by Ching under Flickr, Travel.
I’m no longer a Rocky Horror Picture Show virgin!
After the private party at Henri’s disco, we all went to the Degas lounge to secure our spot for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. We were way early, though, and they were still in the middle of karaoke. Normally, Brian hates karaoke but he was a good sport that night and we stayed. Jen and Shane are fantastic singers so they both treated us to a song.
Here’s Shane doing his thing.
Here’s Jen doing her thing. (Try to ignore all my yammering in the background.)
Here’s a video clip of us TP-ing the Degas lounge in preparation for RHPS.
I think the most memorable part of RHPS for me was doing the time warp dance on the stage alongside Sunny, Frank, and Brian. It helped that they kept the lounge dark so you couldn’t really see who was in front of the stage.
Anyway, I had never done that before. It was a lot of fun!

Tuesday, October 28, also happened to be Jen and Shane’s wedding anniversary. Shane surprised her with a tanzanite necklace. How romantic!
