File this under great service recoveries of all time…

Can you believe this is my car’s engine compartment? Everything was so clean and shiny. Brian and I were really impressed. Eddy’s totally delivered on their promise to “thoroughly detail” my car. They were not joking. They cleaned Bebot inside and out.

It looked like they took all of our junk out, cleaned the car and then put our stuff back where they were. I know because things were moved around somewhat. The floors and interior had gotten dirty from leaves and dust and stuff and everything was spotless when we picked the car up. The car seriously looked better than the day we bought it. That’s a huge compliment considering the car was bought brand new.

Of course, it rained the other day so I only got to enjoy my clean, shiny car for a couple of days at best. Isn’t that always how it goes? LOL.

I did feel a little guilty, though, because we almost didn’t want to get our own car back. We really enjoyed driving and riding around in the ’08 Prius. It made me feel very eco-friendly. LOL.

I have always thought Priuses looked ugly. I’m not a big fan of the hatchback trunk and the compact body style. After you realize how much gas you’re saving (or how little gas it consumes), it kind of grows on you. Plus, I think it’s shorter than my car but the interior is far roomier. It is surprisingly spacious inside. We fit Brian’s parents in there with us and we all had plenty of leg room.

I like how quiet it is, the cute power button, the backup camera, the design of the interior compartments (efficient use of space), and the gas mileage (naturally). I am totally sold. I’m not not much of a car person, though. In fact, I know nothing about cars so Brian will probably be able to share a more informed, educated review of the vehicle. All I know is that our next car purchase (probably in 2010 when the Priuses are manufactured in the US and improve to 70-80 mpg) will likely be a Prius because we really like it a lot. [ SIDE NOTE: It’s a good thing we are not in the market for one right now because there is a seven-month waiting list at Eddy’s. ]

Here are some pictures of the one we got to drive last weekend:

Don't see Priuses at gas stations often.

Yeah, we put gas in it though we didn’t really need to… That’s because we are nice. We did put quite a lot of miles on it with all the driving all over town that we did. Brian and I guess that we could probably go to Kansas City and back on a half a tank. I kind of wish we still had it for our road trip tomorrow.

Jan Got an iPhone

Posted on January 28, 2008 by under Toys, Wishlist.

Jan got an iPhone on Sunday. I am so jealous. I have wanted one for a long time now. Just couldn’t justify paying $600. Even now at $400 I still think that is too much. Specially for a phone that I still have to hack. I’m pretty satisfied with my T-Mobile rate plan and don’t feel like switching.

Anyway, we went to the AT&T store with her after brunch at the Good Egg. Not quite decided, we all went to Best Buy to check out the iPod Touch. Ultimately, the iPhone proved to be a better deal so Jan returned to the AT&T store to purchase the phone while Brian and I went check out this open house in College Hill. Brian got a ticket in the process. I don’t even want to talk about the ticket because it is so stupid. No, it’s not a speeding ticket. A speeding ticket would actually have been preferable, and probably even cheaper.

Went to check out the house, then stopped by mom’s open house (Tita Bev’s house at the Remington), and then went to Jan’s to check out her new iPhone. While there I got to watch a bit of Staying Alive (don’t ask) and a bit of Inside Man (interesting movie). Apparently, I need to catch up my 70s John Travolta movies.

Jan fixed us each a glass of pomegranate martinis except for Brian, of course. He had to drink sprite. [Note to self: It’s always five o’clock somewhere.] Here are some of the photos.. (more…)

Ching’s New Bag

I finally got my Sausalito Tote from Franklin Covey. It went on sale! Woo hoo! I love this time of year!

It took two gift cards Jenni (she gave me one for my birthday and then another for Christmas) and the gift card I got from my CSRs, and then fifteen dollars and change from Brian. After all that I got my bag. It is absolutely perfect. It is just like my black one on the inside. It’s got lots of compartments inside to help keep you organized.

Anyway, I thought I would share. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Ching’s Christmas Wishlist

Posted on November 19, 2007 by under Toys, Wishlist.

Gorillapod

  • Gorillapod for my new digital camera.
  • iPhone

  • iPhone. Thuy has one and it rocks. Now that it works with T-Mobile, there’s no reason not to get one. 🙂
  • Rome. Seasons 1 and 2. I was really hooked on that show.
  • Gap gift card. So I can buy me some new dress pants.
  • Zappos or Shoes.com gift cards. I need some new work shoes.
  • Franklin Covey gift card. Jenni got me one for my birthday. I just need to add a little bit more to it.
  • Gift certificate to Beau Monde.
  • Fossil Sedona handbag in cognac. I need a brown bag that is big enough to hold my stuff.
  • Dress Smart Women. Since our work dress code is fixing to get stricter, I need some wardrobe advice.
  • Target gift card. I can usually find an inexpensive sweater or cardigan set there. Good for wearing to work and meeting the dress code while staying on budget.
  • And world peace.

P.S. I will periodically add to this list as I think of stuff. Please be sure to keep checking back.
