I just wanted to post this blog in honor of Bill. He won the poker tournament at the Big Boys Toy Show last Saturday. I knew he would! He totally deserves it! Congrats, Bill!

We had to take a picture because I actually got carded asking for a drink. I told Brian that I wanted to save this moment forever because it’s not everyday that I get carded anymore. LOL.
Today was a good poker day. Raymond told us about a Bank of America poker mixer and Kansas Food Bank event. You’re supposed to bring a can of tuna and a jar of peanut butter. Brian and I brought one of each and then also brought a bunch of our old cans of chili and manwich that we weren’t going to use. We were just relieved that we could actually give them to someone.
Brian took third and I took first. I was actually the one who knocked him out. How fitting, eh? As we were leaving Brian commented that it’s a shame we don’t play like that when it counts. No kidding.
I think we play better when nothing is at stake because we are more relaxed. Remind me to use the same strategy next Friday. 🙂

Here’s a picture of some poker players and spectators at the final table. I actually finished 5th out of almost 200 players tonight. I hope this means my poker slump is over.

The prize pool at the poker tournament during the Big Boys Toy Show yesterday included $5000 in cash. I’m not sure how the distribution went but I know first place would get $1000 of it. That was in addition to other prizes that they were giving away. Sadly, I didn’t take home any of it.
