Dave & Buster’s<\/a> where we plowed through $40 in credits in no time.<\/p>\nWhile at Legends Mall, Brian and I did our Christmas shopping. Everyone’s Christmas present has been purchased except for our little nephew Eli and Brian’s grandparents. Of course, we didn’t pick up anything for Dad and Logan because they’ve both requested cash for some big ticket toys this year.<\/p>\n
We stayed at Harrah’s again because it is convenient to do so. We played the Sunday $50 buy-in tourney. I took 10th out of 40 players. Only five places paid, unfortunately. We were immediately $100 down because of that.<\/p>\n
Dinner was at Toby Keith’s because Moby’s was closed. We went back to the casino after dinner to see if we could win some of our money back. We tried to recover by getting $100 in chips and playing our favorite table game, the World Series of Poker Texas hold’em game. No such luck. I ran out of money pretty quickly. I took $60 from Brian and got chips to play regular $5 black jack. By two o’clock in the morning, I was sleepy. I cashed out at $75.<\/p>\n
The next day, we woke up early to eat some breakfast at The Buffet. I think it was mostly “depressed” eating. Brian and I decided to lose the rest of our money by playing black jack press before heading home.<\/p>\n
Overall, the shopping portion of the trip was pretty productive. The gambling portion was sadly unproductive. We only lost about $300, but not being true gamblers that is a lot of money to us. Together with our shopping, food, gas, and lodging expenditures it was a pretty expensive trip. I don’t think we will be going out of town for a while. I’m thinking this is our last hurrah until we get moved into a new house. No more gambling (or shopping for that matter) for a while. A long, long while.<\/p>\n
Anyway, the song “Name” by the Goo Goo Dolls was playing on the radio on the way home. Brian, who was already in a depressed mood, goes “That’s a depressing song.”<\/p>\n
“I’ll show you depressing,” I said as I tuned to another random radio station. The intro to “Hotel California” by the Eagles started playing.<\/p>\n
On cue I started singing, “On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair ~ Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air ~”<\/p>\n
I paused long enough to say to Brian, “Now, that’s a depressing song.” He’s laughing at this point. “Why are you laughing?” I asked.<\/p>\n
“It’s not the song that’s depressing,” he says. “It’s your singing!”<\/p>\n
