I took a couple of hits off my Albuterol inhaler last night to show Brian my technique.\u00c2\u00a0 It was clumsy and awkward and I really don’t know how much medicine is reaching my lungs because I don’t think I’m doing it right.\u00c2\u00a0 Brian tried to show me how to do it and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.<\/p>\n
“How do you know how to do this when you’ve never had to use an inhaler before either?” I wondered.\u00c2\u00a0 Then it dawns on me.\u00c2\u00a0 He used to smoke weed.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Are you kidding me?”\u00c2\u00a0 He said, “These are the same\u00c2\u00a0inhalers that people who have asthma use.\u00c2\u00a0 We used to steal these all the time.\u00c2\u00a0 Albuterol is great with weed.”\u00c2\u00a0 Spoken like a true pot-smoking expert.<\/p>\n
I never thought that not having had the experience of smoking pot would hurt me in the future.\u00c2\u00a0 I’ve always been proud of the fact that I’ve never ever tried it and never had the desire to, but I think pot-smoking experience would’ve been helpful in this situation.\u00c2\u00a0 Heck, even cigarette-smoking experience would be helpful!\u00c2\u00a0 I think my main problem is that I don’t know how to inhale.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, using the inhaler requires some coordination too — which I don’t have.<\/p>\n
At any rate, the lesson here is all life experiences are helpful.\u00c2\u00a0 Good or bad, you’re probably going to use those skills at some point in your life.\u00c2\u00a0 If I was a smoker (cigarettes or otherwise), then I’d probably know how to inhale properly and not waste a single drop of medicine.\u00c2\u00a0 Then again, if I was a smoker I’d probably have more health problems.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Okay, that just ruined my moral lesson.\u00c2\u00a0 Let’s try again.\u00c2\u00a0 Let me say this, all life experiences are helpful, and let’s just leave it at that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
