One, I’m on duty this weekend. Two, there’s a major thunderstorm right now.

Brian picked me up for lunch today and we went to B&C Creations as planned. We got there pretty early (at around 11:15 am) but too late for good parking. We had to park past the railroad tracks and walk a short distance. As early as it was, there was already a line to pay. After paying, there was a long line to the bbq buffet also. It took us about ten minutes before we actually got to the food. The wait didn’t seem that long, though, because Brian and I kept each other entertained.

We do that cuddly thing that usually only new dating couples do. We’ve never really been shy about PDAs (public displays of affection). The older guy in front us actually teased, “Are you guys cold?” He was commenting on the fact that Brian and I stood in line embracing each other. Brian and I just smiled back.

Got off work pretty late today due to unexpected last minute issues. Brian patiently waited for me in the alley. It was almost 5:30 pm so he must have been waiting for at least a half an hour.

The weather didn’t look so bad on the way home so we decided to drop my stuff off at the house, eat some Chipotle and then go to the APL headquarters for some poker. After we ate, we started driving to APL. We could see the storm in the distance. The lightning bolts lit up the sky like strobe lights. It was an amazing sight. At the time it looked like that storm was far away and we thought we would be okay. Brian actually guessed that the storm was still in the Goddard or Cheney area. He sorely underestimated how fast that storm was travelling. By the time we hit the downtown area on the highway it was really dark. After passing Kellogg, the rain was pouring so hard that we could barely see.

We took the Lincoln exit like we would if we were going to poker, but just took the on ramp back onto the highway. We were a hundred paces from the APL building but we decided to turn back. Good decision because it really started coming down. It was really scary.

Now that we have reached our house safely, Brian and I decided that we’re just going to stay in tonight. It will give me an opportunity to complete some homework and do laundry. Besides, I have to get up early tomorrow for my Saturday workout. I haven’t worked out all week and I’ve been eating so much that I feel like I’ve gained five pounds just this week alone.

Anyway, it starting to sound better outside. Hopefully the storm will pass soon. I hope you are all safely in your own homes.

Until next time,
Ching

We’re staying in tonight for several reasons.
