{"id":30361,"date":"2026-01-06T14:56:52","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T20:56:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=30361"},"modified":"2026-01-06T14:57:50","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T20:57:50","slug":"a-couple-of-pickleball-tourneys-to-end-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=30361","title":{"rendered":"A Couple of Pickleball Tourneys to End the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I closed out the year by playing in a couple of fun pickleball tournaments at Chicken N Pickle and also helping my friends Zach Nguyen and Susie Ternes with their first <strong>Miracles and Mentors Pickleball Tournament<\/strong> benefiting Children&#8217;s Miracle Network Hospitals and Youth Horizons. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/54948785088\/in\/datetaken\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54948785088_64c1047fd6_c.jpg\" width=\"500\" alt=\"Friendsgiving Tournament with Matthew Rochat\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Matt Rochat and I played in the Friendsgiving Tournament as <strong>Smash Ching Pumpkins<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/54998092675\/in\/datetaken\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54998092675_772ccae590_c.jpg\" width=\"500\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bo Tolbert and I played in the Ugly Sweater Pickleball Tournament as <strong>Tolbert and Erne<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/54982728647\/in\/datetaken\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54982728647_9192d55c72_c.jpg\" width=\"500\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Teamed up with Zach Nguyen and Susie Ternes to host the first ever <strong>Miracles and Mentors Pickleball Tournament<\/strong>, which Susie ended up winning (LOL) along with her partner Jordan Sparks. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/54982366324\/in\/datetaken\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54982366324_03e6dde151.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Lynch and Krysta Crawford took second. Sarah Berry and Fernando Martinez took third. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/54981236447\/in\/datetaken\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54981236447_496984d0ea.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\nThe winners of the recreational group were as follows:<\/p>\n<li><strong>1st<\/strong> &#8211; Janelle Lindeman and Devin Hansen<\/li>\n<li><strong>2nd<\/strong> &#8211; Scott Knox and Karen Fox<\/li>\n<li><strong>3rd<\/strong> &#8211; Evelina Le and Justin Kongmanychanh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was a great turnout for a first fundraising tournament and I think everyone had a great time.
