{"id":28836,"date":"2024-01-04T12:14:55","date_gmt":"2024-01-04T18:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=28836"},"modified":"2024-01-04T12:14:55","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T18:14:55","slug":"holiday-pop-ups-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=28836","title":{"rendered":"Holiday Pop-Ups Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I missed Sparky&#8217;s again this year but I&#8217;m pretty sure I set a new record for hitting holiday pop-up bars this holiday season. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/53439120321\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53439120321_1524078d32.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The other night we went to Holiday Hideaway at Chicken N Pickle to celebrate Jenny Cole and Bobby Weisbrodt&#8217;s birthdays. Bobby&#8217;s was on December 30 and Jenny&#8217;s was on January 3 so the two of them decided to celebrate together on Tuesday, January 2. It worked out great because I was actually free that day.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/53438199142\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53438199142_8b61bcc69c_c.jpg\" width=\"500\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was a lot of fun and the festive drinks were yummy but there are so many holiday pop-up bar options these days. It seems like all the restaurants are trying to out-do each other. I think my favorite thing at Holiday Hideaway is the martini flight that&#8217;s served in bear glasses on a Chicken N Pickle snowboard. So cute and, for $20, not a bad deal at all.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/53439536265\/in\/photostream\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53439536265_c3b237d54d.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The other pop-up I got to check out this year were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=28745\" >Snow Globe at River City Brewery<\/a> (twice)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=28805\" >Jingle at Public at the Brickyard<\/a> (also twice)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/brubakers.us\/?p=28813\" >Bigloo at Nortons Brewing Company<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a video highlight from my second visit to Jingle:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Friday Night Jingle\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cyZR27XfEYA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That night was quite wild. I hadn&#8217;t been out that late in a really long time. We shut down the restaurant and, by the time we left, the Old Town road barricades were down. I&#8217;m not usually out that late so I didn&#8217;t even know that was thing.  <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/53419482638\/\"  title=\"Untitled\"><img src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53419482638_d185064219_c.jpg\" width=\"500\" alt=\"Untitled\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having visited all these pop-ups, I must say that Jingle is my favorite because they have a DJ on Friday nights which makes the atmosphere extra fun and festive. And, out of all the holiday drinks I&#8217;ve drank, the Papa Noel is my fave.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, now that it&#8217;s January most of the holiday pop-ups have wrapped up for the season. Looking forward to hitting all these places (and then some) again next year.
