This song also won the 1977 Grammy for Song of the Year and was the biggest hit of that year.  It was #1 for 10 weeks in the US charts.  Debby Boone won the Grammy for Best New Artist that same year.  The song also won the Oscar for Best Song in the 1978 Academy Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The number one song the day Brian was born was some obscure song called &#8220;Billy, Don&#8217;t Be a Hero&#8221; by Bo Donaldson &#038; The Heywoods.  I have never even heard of that song.  I think Brian got gypped in the song department.
