It was a really fruitful trip achieving a couple of objectives: (a) seeing Sheryll and the kids who we haven&#8217;t seen in a few years, and (b) testing road trip or potential vacation options with the dogs.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/25627890801\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"   title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pic\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1627\/25627890801_7b0f39428a.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Since we were doing a down and back, we left really early on Saturday morning. It was meant to be a short bathroom break for the dogs and the humans, but we had to take a photo at the rock thing because I guess it&#8217;s the thing to do at this rest stop. We went to our hotel but our room wasn&#8217;t ready so we ended up going to see Sheryll and the kids first. <\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/25710016116\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"   title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pic\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1599\/25710016116_4ab6f9407a.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>We hung out with them briefly before returning to our hotel to check in and dropping off all of our stuff. I was pleasantly surprised. They didn&#8217;t charge us extra for bringing our two dogs with us. The hotel rate was reasonable as well. I was super pleased with our experience. Sheryll made these yummy breakfast burritos. And then we were on our way back home.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ching\/25132646703\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"   title=\"Untitled\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pic\" src=\"https:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1563\/25132646703_5742be9dbf.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Untitled\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It was a really short trip but very productive. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with everyone. Also, we&#8217;re super glad to have discovered La Quinta.
