Our Dinner at Sabor
Posted on March 9, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Brian and I had dinner at Sabor before the hockey game last night. Brian was a little disappointed that the fried plantain chips weren’t fresh. I had to remind him that when the chips are fresh they’re usually greasy so it’s not so bad that these are completely fresh. Besides, they’re probably fresh. Just not hot off the fryer.
Brian had the fire roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and the fiery habanero sauce.
I had the adobo pork, which is what I normally get. It wasn’t a good as it usually is, but still tasty. It had been a while since we’d been to Sabor last so I asked for a variety of sauces.
I tried the mango sofrito, chimichurri, orange poblano (which is like the old orange garlic mojo), and the red wine mole. I normally like the orange garlic mojo, but last night I liked the red wine mole sauce best.
Sabor is good, but it’s just not the same since Chef Jason hasn’t been the executive chef there. They used to be so awesome. I guess you can’t expect everything to stay the same after five years.
