Congratulations, Mano!
Posted on February 12, 2005 by Ching under Poker.
Congratulations to our friend, and fellow posse member, Mano! He finished 85th today so he’s already qualified for a seat in the final event in April. Hopefully we will be blessed tomorrow and we’ll qualify, too! I don’t have a lot of money to be donating each time that we play.
BTW, here’s an update on the little competition that Jason and I are having: Jason is currently ranked 42nd (up from being 57th in the region) and I dropped down to 67th (from 55th just a week ago). But, hey! I earned a few points on Thursday. Perhaps not enough to overtake him, but I’m still in the running!! Oh, yeah!

It Drives Me Nuts When
Posted on February 11, 2005 by Ching under Life.
It drives me nuts when people have no consideration for the health of their children. Last week as Brian and I were leaving Felipe’s this family of four walks in. The family consisted of the mom, the dad and their two young children. I overheard the host ask their smoking preference. Much to my surprise, the couple asked to be seated in the smoking section. A rational person, such as myself, expected them to forgo smoking during the meal for the sake of their children. Naturally, I said something about it to Brian as soon as we got in the car. I was disgusted that some people could care so little about their children’s health and well-being. Brian said he was not at all surprised at their choice of seating because he could smell the cigarette smoke odor on them as they walked in. It just bothered me that they would expose these poor, young kids to second-hand smoke just because they cannot go without a cigarette for an hour. I guess they probably smoke inside their homes while watching TV with the kids so it probably doesn’t even matter that they prefer to sit in the smoking section of restaurants. I don’t know. I guess it just makes me mad. Sometimes I think that we treat our pets better than some people treat their children. It’s a sad, sad world we live in.

Eight Hours
Posted on February 9, 2005 by Ching under School.
Larry almost put me to sleep in class today. I guess it didn’t help that I had a humongous mangorita at Felipe’s right before class. I drank every last drop, too. It didn’t matter that I had pork burito and rice to absorb the alcohol content. With my small frame, it was still enough to give me a good buzz. We had a quiz yesterday, too. Remind me to never take a quiz even slightly intoxicated. It wasn’t too bad, I guess. At least the words weren’t dancing around on the paper. I wouldn’t have come to class if I was in that bad of a condition. So having been already sleepy from class, I just took off my clothes and went to bed as soon as I got home. No checking email. No surfing the internet. No chatting on YM. No playing poker on UB. No nothing. I was dead tired. I think the fact that I am emotionally drained contributed to my physical exhaustion. For the first time in months, I went to bed at ten o’clock. That’s the earliest I’d gone to bed in several months. I’m not counting our afternoon naps sometimes on weekends. Those don’t count because usually we’ll wake up in the middle of the night like at two in the morning and go to the office to play on the internet. I’m usually lucky if I get four or five hours of sleep a day. I didn’t get up until about six thirty this morning. I had almost eight hours of sleep and my body doesn’t know what to do. I think it wants more.. I guess because I’d never had eight hours of sleep in a long while, my body didn’t really know what it was missing. It’s really cold out today, too. I just want to crawl back into bed.

Poker Night
Posted on February 9, 2005 by Brian under Poker.
Tonight’s poker night and I just received a call from Jason wanting to know if I was coming to the early game or the late game. I told him I would be there at 10 but I would be alone. He wanted to know why Ching wasn’t coming? I told him she had an exam to study for. He said “Ok, see you both at 10.”
Here’s why, several times now Ching has stated that she was not going to come to poker, then at the last min she changed her mind and came to poker. She is adamant that she is not coming this time, I guess we’ll see!

Strawberry Limeade
Posted on February 6, 2005 by Ching under Food and Drink.
I was craving freckled lemonade again today. I was dying to go to Red Robin again to imbibe on their yummy non-alcoholic concoction. We were still grody, sweaty and stinky from playing racquetball, but I didn’t care. Brian wanted Subway, though. But then, I didn’t want anything from Subway. They don’t serve any yummy drinks. So we decided to compromise. We drove to Sonic instead. Since it’s a drive-in, no one has to see or smell us. If you can’t have freckled lemonade, straberry limeade is the next best thing. It’s good enough to satisfy my craving for the time being. Although, I wish I could say the same for :other: cravings. There just isn’t any substitute for a good orgy. LOL!
