Our Handicapped-Accessible Bathroom

What is it with us and handicapped-accessible rooms? This is the second time this has happened to us. The first time we got a handicapped-accessible room assigned to us was on our Vegas trip earlier this year. They must confuse Brian’s mental retardation for a physical handicap or something. Just kidding, baby!
I have no idea what everyone else’s bathrooms looked like, but ours had a folding bench (which we never used because [a] we didn’t need it and [b] it looked gross; you never know whose bun buns have been on that thing) and bars along all the walls, behind the door, and even above the toilet. I guess this way if you were physically-challenged in some way, you could support yourself. I’m sure Brian had other ideas for the bars but, as for me, I found them particularly handy on those days when the ship rocked a lot.
Anyway, our shower had this string that runs from the top of the shower all the way to the bottom. I wasn’t sure what it was so, one morning, I asked Brian what it was for. Goof ball goes “I don’t know,” as he starts pulling on the string.
Almost immediately our stateroom phone rings. I guess they were checking on us if we needed assistance of the I’ve-fallen-and-I-can’t-get-up nature. Brian replied, “We are okay. Thank you.” Now we know what that string is for. LOL.
